Introduction: This blog takes you on a journey through the frustrations and the triumphs of the job search process as experienced here at the University of Delaware Career Services Center. We hope you enjoy reading the articles and perhaps learn a few things along the way. Please feel free to join the conversation!
Now let’s meet the writers…
Hi! I’m Brittany O’Connell, a sophomore at the University of Delaware studying communication with a concentration in public relations. I’m from northern New Jersey
and extremely grateful for all of the opportunities UD has been providing for me.
I’m currently the Finance and Fundraising Director for Public Relations Student Society of America, University of Delaware Chapter (PRSSA-UD). Through PRSSA-UD I have strengthened communications skills and my passion for public relations has grown. Additionally, I am a Social Media and Marketing intern at UD’s Career Services Center. I manage all of the Career Services social media accounts with Paxton and Kaitlin while designing advertisements and promoting upcoming UD events through various marketing techniques. I also serve as a social media ambassador with my own UD-branded Twitter account @BlueHenBrittany.
After graduation, I aspire to pursue public relations and social media marketing while incorporating my love for design, art, and fashion. My dream job would either be doing public relations and social media for one of my favorite brands or to become an art director.
Hi! My name is Kaitlin Vienne and I am currently a sophomore at the University of
Delaware. I am a Marketing major, with minors in Journalism and Advertising. I am from Long Island, New York and work at the Career Services Center as a social media marketing intern. At the Career Center, Brittany, Nasir and I manage the department’s social media accounts, and help promote various events such as the career fairs to students and employers. I love having the opportunity to reach other students through the growing social media platform.
I am currently a member of Chi Omega Fraternity, which supports Make-A-Wish foundation. I am also the Vice President of Operations for Greek Council here at UD. I love traveling, my dog, and trips to the beach. I absolutely love studying at the University of Delaware, and am looking forward to my last two years here.
I aspire to work in either Public Relations or Marketing after graduation. I hope to someday be able to reach the greater public in the same way that I reach students here at the Career Services Center.
